The grease is affected by shearing, load, vibration, high temperature, centrifugal force, surface material of friction pair, etc., which causes the base oil to separate from the thickener, spread, and contaminate other parts. In addition, after oil separation, the life of the grease will be rapidly reduced, and the grease will thicken and dry, and lose its lubricating effect.
The main reason for oil separation during the use of lubricating grease is the decrease of colloidal stability. Colloidal stability is the performance of lubricating grease to maintain stable colloidal structure under certain temperature and pressure and prevent lubricating oil from separating out of lubricating grease.There are three main factors that affect the stability of grease colloids:the formula composition of grease, production process and conditions of use.
The following criteria are often considered when selecting a non-diffusion grease:
1.If the structure allows, choose a high-viscosity base oil or a high-hardness grease as much as possible.
2.Choose lithium complex, calcium complex and lithium-based products as thickeners.
3.Add additives to prevent oil separation and meet high temperature diffusion test.
4.Corrosion and rust resistance, good compatibility with most metals, plastics and rubbers and contact media.
Application
Used for structural lubrication and noise reduction in electronics, automobiles, and precision instruments that require no grease pollution;
Used for the lubrication of products that have strict requirements on oil separation, such as central control automobile buttons and computer keyboards;
Used for lubricating, silencing and preventing oil leakage of lens focusing threads of measuring instruments, optical instruments cameras and peripheral friction parts of rails, shafts, lenses.
